Set up your own company LLC. and ask them to sign corp-corp or 1099 and you be the sole owner of this company.
This way even if you dont get full time offer you can defend self employment.
W2 Contract can be a problem because of USCIS's perception of permanent job.

Even I got Duplicate I485, I765, I131 receipts. All the receipts has same A#. One set of I765 & I131 approved. For the second set , they send REF about Photos as I have not submitted any supporting documents ( Photos, I94 etc) for second set. I have submitted second set as follow up since I didnt get recepts for the first set within 5 months.
Now I want to withdraw duplicate I485 another set. What happen to your I485 withdraw. Any problems ?
Please advise ...

So u are saying if she uses her EAD/ AP then my H1b is no longer valid? BTW she got her h1b visa in the lottery earlier this year.

Thanks. I did contact USCIS and they have accepted my request to expidite the cast. It is to be seen if it will actually happen.

If they accepted the expedite request, you should get the EAD in your hands within 2-3 weeks.
You cannot work with an expired EAD. Legally, you can work from the day when the renewal EAD gets approved. Some employers insist the production of physical EAD to allow us to continue working. Some employers (few) allow you to work, if the EAD application has been approved. It is not advisable/legal to work when your current EAD is expired and the new one has not yet approved.
You do not have to quit your job. You can go on leave/vacation, if you have leave balance. Else you can go on "Leave without Pay". You do not have to leave the country in no circumstances, because your status is "Adjustment of Stats/I-485 Pending" which in no way gets affected by the expiry of the EAD. If it is not going to come on time, you just have to enjoy one or two weeks of vacation.
Talk to your HR regarding the different options.

Hi,
I have seen that myself a couple of times. I had read somewhere on the USCIS site that the dates get updates also as a result of some backend process that they run on their side too, not necessarily when status change happens.

It is interesting � I moved from AL to SC a 1.5 year ago � needed a new ID, so I went there and they did this too � but only for the first time (they gave me that paper thing). Few weeks after this I changed my address so I had to renew it again� it was instantaneous;- they took the photo within 10 min I had my new ID � they said I�m in the system so no problems �have a nice day.
By the way � with that paper ID I travelled back to AL, to NC several times - I kept a copy from the old AL driver license (so what? � I can show my old international driver license :D � wondering what a local policeman would do with that �, otherwise I�m legally here, sorry )

Another handy use of Break Apart is to break apart a .jpg or gif file. This does a kinda conversion on it, to make it seem as if it had been drawn with fills in Flash.
Sometimes the quality is reduced, sometimes isn't. Really it depends on the complexity of the photo. But it can also help to reduce your file size. :)

Please do not lose heart. We are working behind the scenes to get things moving. Nothing will happen just for EB3. Things will happen for everybody together. Don't ever let anyone fool you saying that something will happen only for EB3-I or EB2-ROW. Because no matter how much we want, things don't work like that. Everything will get done tother for all categories. We are causiously optimistic about the bill in Jan-2010. Hang tight and please actively participate in the action items.

So this is why all lawyers recommend to keep your h1 status valid, when you file your 485. Getting into EAD is a risk, which some bold take and survive, others like me who try to play safe....stay on H1 until the 485 is approved.
That would have been my preference as well - unfortunately I did not have a choice since my company had a RIF and I am now looking for work! Any help on what the status is called (other than jobless!) would be appreciated

Can someone be with their sponsoring employer on H1 and start business on EAD part time.

NRE accounts--> interest earned is not taxable in India but has to be reported in your 1040 here.
NRO accuont--> earns very high interest rates (was 11%) just a few months ago. There will be TDS but you can file an income tax return and claim the amount that they deducted above what you would be taxed.
For eg:- if your total interest earned is 100,000 they would withhold upto 30% of it (may be lesser depending upon your situation). When you file your returns your total income is only 100,000 which is below the taxable limits and therefor you will be returned all that was witheld. Only those with interests >180,000 per anum will really lose money.
Some people split accounts and try to hide interest income. This is not advisable if you ever want to repatriate the interest income. Once you have payed required taxes on the interest you can repatriate any amount of interest income to the US. Many people use this as a source of regular income.

Your Lawyer should advice what he is supposed to do. Don't take the ownership of doing something afterwhich lawyer would on your back. So be on his/her back and they should handle it. They can send a letter and the correct copy of your MC with the reciept #. How did you know that the MC was different, did your coworker shout at you ;)

I have recieved date july 17th 2007, Notice date sep 13th,recieved by R Williams.I have not got RFE till now, no 2nd finger printing notice. Should I go to USCIS and ask them to take a 2nd finger print.No clue that FBI Name check is cleared.WHAT TO DO?
