I did my H1B renewal in Toronto Last Feb without problem. I have Indian Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Renewal went very smoothly. I had all my papers with me as required.

I trust IV core members 99% for their efforts. But the remaining 1% does not come from the fear that IV is corrupt financially. It comes from the lack of information. If IV does not let the members know about their plans, how many members do the core expect to trust them and make an almost blind contribution? I suggest that members who want to contribute do the following.
1. pick up your phone and get ready to contribute.
2. call IV and during the call, contribute.
3. verify with IV that you are not a spy by giving your detailed information.
4. IV email you or mail you the ongoing plan.

As for the state chapter, I don't think IV should push for it in the near future. It will take a long time to build the grassroots. It won't be done in this year, in my opinion.

I got my FP done today. I received the FP notice around 12th Sep. My receipt date is 4th Sep. Case is in Tx.
Appointment time was 2PM. We reached 15mins early. The time does not matter. Long line to check and accept the form. Then we were issued numbers and asked to wait for the numbers. For the amount of people waiting for FP, they did a good and fast job. Mostly young kids and they were fast.
Did FP and took Picture of self and wife and we were done. It took a little over 1 hour. I carried my passport but showd Drivers licence and that was all that was needed. Hope this helps.

I called the USCIS customer service and was given the receipt numbers for 485,EAD and AP.The application was put in the system on Sep 8th, Saturday. Checks havent been cashed yet.

As far as I know, Your new EB2 labor is completely independent of your approved EB3 petition. While your EB2 is in process or even if it is denied you can still fall back on your EB3 to get your 3 year H1 renewals and avail other benefits of approved petition. This is what the attorney told my employer.
Coming to the question of whether you can use your on the job experience towards EB2, the answer doesn't seem to be consistent. My company's attorney tells us that is possible and there is a 90 % chance of approvals and 10% chance of denials.

Before she changes her job so soon after I-485 approval. Make sure you understand the consequences of not staying with your petitioning employer.
Your intent may be questioned during Naturalization process. Talk to an attorney. I dont think people can just switch employers after 485 is approved rightaway.

The company is very healthy financially and has around 100 employees on payroll. They have successfully processed many GCs for the existing employees in the last 3 years. The irony is one of my friends that filed with me on the same advertisement and profile got his GC 18 months ago!!

In this case, foreign workers who had departed from the employment, not because of the layoff, or because of the alien's decision to change employment.
Such adverse evidence can also haunt after the foreign workers obtaining the Green Card as the law allows the USCIS to initiate the Green Card revocation proceeding before the immigration courts under the law that the USCIS can revoke a Green Card, should they belatedly find and establish such adverse evidence after the approval of a Green Card, which should have formed a basis for the adjudicator to deny the I-485 applications had the adjudicator known the facts and evidence.

Do not mean to hijack the thread but the question hopefully is related.
When I submitted my 485 application, my wife and I requested just the EADs. We have the receipt notice as well as the EAD in our hands. Our FP is done as well.
We are now submitting our AP applications. If anyone has submitted late like myself in the recent past, I would appreciate this information.
1.) Could anyone let me know the appropriate documents for this?
2.) Also, what are the fees associated with it, especially with all the old vs new stuff?

Thanks for the reply. Atlast I could talk to my lawyer and the reason given by him is while sending the I485 application for my wife they sent the 1 & 3rd page of the application & missed the 2nd & 4th pages while taking xerox copies. He said he will try to resend it but not not sure whether tehy will accept. He took even 1000$ more from me for fast service.
For his mistake I have to pay the price.

Thanks friends. Just a reminder. I am not using any pre approved labor. This labor was mine. The company filed it for me in august 2003. Then I 140 was filed in may 2006 after labor approval.
That I 140 was denied after an RFE in april 2007. My lawyer appealed for it, so the appeal is pending on that I 140.
Now My laywer suggests that I file another I 140 with the same labor, while the appeal is pending on that first I 140. He says that if USCIS asks for which one to keep, he will continue with the new one and scrap the old one. Either of them get approved, I can avoid the other.
Is it possible?

It is based on Karma. I know people who got GC in 20 days and still waiting for it for 10 years. I am waiting on it for 5 years now. Do not try to come up with formulas. I and my friend with the same pd filed on the same day. His went to TSC and mine to NSC. He already got his GC 2 weeks ago.

I gave my 3rd FP for pending 485 last week. Haven't seen any LUD change since. My NC was cleared last year as per USCIS. My question is after every FP, does FBI initiate a new name check? is this a vicious circle ?
