I got 485 Card production order and welcome notice email yesterday . I am assuming that means I got PR . my company has filed for H1 -B extension last week itself . what will happen to that extension , do we need to revoke/withdraw that petition ?

Now I have a question?
My H1 is valid till May 2010 but not stamped. I have AP with me. If I go to India and come back on AP, I will still be on H1 and can even extend beyond 2010. If this is valid, then I think I do not have to get my visa stamped. That will be cool.

Are you still waiting for LC, may be from BECs?
what's the reason of RFE, if you are currently working for the same employer?
I don't know how you can get approval by going through company B, which you can not get with Company A.
Please give more information and certainly someone can help you quickly

PIO card is valid for 15 years and no need to apply for visa every time you go. You just present it with the passport when entering/departing in India. it takes about 20 days to get it they say 15 working days which is about 3 weeks. if you do in person they will check all documents and let you know if there is some thing wrong so you can correct it and submit it and no issues when issuing. they give you date to pick up or even you can ask them to mail back for 15$. i would say get poi if you have time and also if you are local do pio if you are not getting it by the time of travel you can always go and get visa the same day. http://www.cgisf.org/ is the sfo counslate website can get all the infor and download application there. even you can email them they are very prompt in replying you will get a reply the next day if you have any questions

I am on H1 for the last 3 years. Got my H1 renewed for 3 years last month. Now i have to go back to India for one year (2009) and come back at 2010. I will not be in a payroll for 2009. When i come back to US at 2010, i am planning to start my Green Card processing. I want to know if my one year stay in India will affect my Green Card processing in any way?

By the way my service center was Nebraska and my Receipt date was outside their processing time. ( I mailed my application on 08/17/2007 and their processing date is 08/10/2007). Looks like they are very conservative when posting their processing dates.

New 485 is not recommended as you have to undergo all the hassles of fingerprinting, medical, background blah blah blah....Specially if your Eb-2 date is current and your case already being pre-adjudicated, interfiling is very much a common sense.

Do not fret. Berkeleybee is still around but not as active on the forum because of extreme pressure at work. The CIS has a long and dishonorable history. They have done many unconscionable things in their past, as individuals and as an institution. They are rife with corruption and incompetence. They willfully refuse to follow the law. Their latest stunt, however, tops anything they have done before.
According to the CIS Ombudsman, the CIS has wasted more than half a million employment based immigrant visas in the last decade. A few years ago, they reserved a huge block of EB immigrant visa numbers with the excuse that they were going to use them to close out a large number of backlogged adjustment of status applications. The result was that the Visa Office had to suddenly retrogress Visa Bulletin cutoff dates. The CIS, of course, didn�t close out even a small fraction of the cases they said they were going to close and tens of thousands of visa numbers were irretrievably lost. Cynical minds believe that they did this deliberately to force a retrogression and stop the filing of additional applications.
This year, determined to prevent the further waste of visa numbers, the Visa Office advanced cutoff dates so that as many EB immigrant visas as possible could be issued before the end of the fiscal year. A few months earlier, the CIS Ombudsman warned that CIS incompetence and inability to reduce adjustment of status backlogs would likely result in the irrevocable loss of at least 40,000 EB immigrant visa numbers.
The CIS was said to be very upset by the Visa Office action. They fumed and stomped and finally came up with a plan. This past weekend, they brought in the entire staff of the NSC and TSC and had them pull files. They pulled more than 60,000 pending adjustment of status files and then ordered visa numbers for all of them. Understand, many (most) of these files were missing background security check results and can not be closed. It didn�t matter, the CIS has no intention of closing them, they just wanted to find enough files to order all of the remaining visa numbers and force a retrogression of cutoff dates. This is why the Visa Office had to issue the update yesterday, announcing that there were no more EB visa numbers available for the remainder of the fiscal year.
By law, the CIS must return all visa numbers they have not used within seven days. Don�t hold your breath waiting for that to happen.
Consider the effort the CIS put into their scheme to frustrate the plans of thousands of intending applicants. How much overtime pay will the taxpayers have to fork over for this? Worse, I very seriously doubt that we will see more than a few cases actually closed. They will have gone through this entire expensive effort for no reason other than to show that they are capable of throwing an institutional tempter tantrum. At the end of the day, they will again have irrevocably wasted tens of thousands of EB immigrant visa numbers and pushed visa cutoff days back even further.
And people wonder why we have an immigration problem.

Did you change your address. Sometimes they send denial at the old address. Also you need a lawyer now with the print out of the page where it lists pending. This forum cant help with this situation as an appeal is needed in your case.

One of my family member went through this, in a routine medical exam (this was not for immigration office) and he referred us to a infectious disease control specialist. After chest x-rays and several other tests the specialist mentioned that tb screening test can be positive some times for BCG vaccination or exposure to TB bacteria from a person who has active TB. This is not a disease (called latent tb), but there is 5% chance that it could develop into a active TB disease (in case the positive was because of exposure to TB bacteria. Initially, he prescribed Isoniazid (300mg), which has severe lever side effects, for 9 months with blood exam to monitor lever function. But, she could not tolerate this medicine even for 5days because of several other side effects (lever funtion test was normal though). Then he switched her to Rifamfin (600mg) for 4 months. There was not any noticeable side effects of this, and level function tests was after 2 weeks for the first time and once in two months after that. But one thing to note that TB screen test would be +ve rest of the life after this and you need to carry a certificate from this physican that you have completed this course of medicine and nothing needs to be done. Hope this helps.

After this the doctor signed the medical report and gave me the sealed envelope. He has then put me on a 6-month medication program for tuberculosis. The medication is quite strong and is supposed to affect the liver. He also wants me to come in on a regular basis (and spend $80 every time) to get blood work done to "make sure the medication is in my blood stream".
I am not sure why I am being put on this medication for such a long period as I don't have tuberculosis. When I questioned my doctor, he said it was necessary - not giving any more details.
Have others gone through such an experience? Am I a source of residual income for his office?

irrational - Sorry to say this is little bit unlucky case. This happened to me also. My case got transferred to VSC from TSC in July 2009 and from then it is sitting there with no progress. Taken info pass but no use. (Yet to think about the next steps!).
I applied for EAD and AP in Aug last week and got the approved copies in Sep second week. I sent the application to TSC.
mmanurker - Can you please tell me how long your application was present in VSC? Also did you do anything to move it back to TSC or NSC.

Was the calendar fairly open in Delhi for you to book appointments? Can you suggest a hotel that you stayed in and liked, etc..?

Luckily I have relatives living in Tuglak Rd, I stayed with them. It was 10 mins ride from there to Embassy. I have stayed in Claridges(5 star) before(my prior trip), it is very close to where I was staying. It should be a short commute to Embassy from there.
