Haha... I don't think so. On the face of it this seems like Apple's marketing team have jumped the gun on this announcement - however I'm guessing Steve Jobs sanctioned this as a swift poke in the eye to Microsoft on Zune launch day.
It's showing the industry how creative Apple are being when it comes to their plans for iPod. They have a lot of cool stuff in store for us that Microsoft aint even thought of yet!!

This is so on the money.
I was just having lunch while watching a film on my iPad. Next table over a table of business people are showing off one of their new iPads. People respond so positively to the experience on so many levels it really has something for nearly everyone.
The important thing that apple got was that making great computers for 2% of the population, or smaller, was one thing. Making a great piece of hardware for 95% of the world something else entirely and much more lucrative.

What I've said are:
- Sales would be higher now than six months ago regardless of what advertising Apple did. No advertising, bad advertising, good advertising. The fact is that Apple's PowerPC line was Osbourned. 5 years ago Apple was pushing open standards with no licensing require (ie, zeroconf) and no one would buy in. Now they offer a standard with a fraction of the capability and charge for it and everyone wants it.
There's a world of difference between extending basic Internet protocols and making a method for streaming videos to set-top devices that actually just works.
The former *has* to be open and license-free to gain any level of traction or standardization, and Apple has done a good job with it -- the drafts for mDNS and DNS-SD (which combine to make Bonjour) are both still active and standards-tracked at IETF. Expect them to become full RFC internet standards before long.
The latter generally means selling a chip (or licensing its design) to other manufacturers. There's both the expectation that this is how things are done, and likely a legal need to charge for it to cover patent licensing fees.

So what I want to know from anyonewho knows is can we boot from one of the other 3 HDD's,and then, with the Quadro FX 4500, play some wicked PC games. Or are we there yet, should I just keep saving until all of the cool stuff is ready (CS3, PC games, nasty graphics capabilities).

If they could make it work intelligently with the ambient light sensor as well as the overall brightness of the display (as in when the display shows something dark, the light dims as well), I think it would be quite cool.
It would also allow for an indicator light (in a similar fashion to BlackBerrys and some Nokia phones), something that I'd appreciate. I had a BlackBerry for a while and it was nice not having to manually activate the phone on a regular basis to check for messages.
By the way, glow-in-the-dark implies the green glowing stuff, not button illumination. I misunderstood what you were talking about. ;)

I must say though, for criminals...things are looking up.
If you add friends and family only then shouldn't be a problem. If it is then you need to pick your friends more carefully and family you associate with.
I remember when Twinkle and some other twitter apps use to broadcast your location.

If you want just the email account then yes, .Mac is not worth it. That's the point. .Mac is more than email, and if you want an email address, get Gmail and hook it up into Mail.app....

I feel sick when I have to tell someone how much it costs. I mean they say .Mac syncing is included! GMail is free too. iWeb provides little bandwidth, and the whole this is wrapped-up with a tiny storage package. And I don't think the solution is for Apple to give us more storage. My Intel Mac Pro said that SMC did not need upgrading. My SMC Version is 1.7f8 as it should be. Some Intel Mac Pros may already have the SMC update done to them before they shipped. Mine was finished by about 9-8-06 & I received it on 9-12-06.

Sanger was a racist. She also died half a century ago. Maybe if she was still alive today, she'd be pissed that PP currently employs minorities. Maybe because both me and my girlfriend are minorities and have used PP for STD testing, contraception, etc, she'd be pissed that resources were spent on us.
Who cares though because this is all beside the point. All the racial talk is just proof by obfuscation.
I love how in 2009 Planned Parenthood did 332,278 abortion and 977 adoption referrals, that's like 340 to 1

I agree with the crop. I'm not sure why I didn't think of it or do it before. I remember feeling the same way but then ignoring myself. :)
This is a "quick and dirty" crop using the crop tools in flickr. I would like more room on the right for the table. This is cropped to the edge of the empty chair, so to do a bit more room I'll have to erase the part of the chair that shows. I may try that when I have more time.

You may have some room to bring the top and right in a little tighter to match the bottom and left crop.
I'm not sure if this will make a better photo but from what I see I think it is worth a try. (Gotta love the digital age!)
I found the original crop interesting at first glance but the more I looked at it the more I lost interest. It may have been the clutter of the bars and expanse of the table and chair to the right - the main focus seemed to get lost. I dunno. ;)

I arrived at 5 and the line already went around the corner and 2/3 down the block. By 6 it went around more than half the park behind.
FWIW, I thought the security was quite good, relaxed but effective.
I am going to guess well over 1200 people there by 6.
